Because they are meant for high powered guns, the BBs are heavier than most soft air ammunition. The extra mass of the BBs creates greater momentum and reduces air resistance. The Hop-Up feature in most Marui guns is calibrated for these BBs, making them standard ammunition for Marui guns. These Excel BBs are also biodegradable. Scientists estimate that it takes between 2 months to a year to break them down, compared with 5 years of normal BBs.
